Optimized Phase-Retrieval Technique for Coherent Diffractive Microscopy: Guided Ptychography Iterative Engine

We have developed a guided ptychography iterative engine (gPIE) algorithm that applies the concept of optimization to conventional ePIE (extended engine) approach. Instead accessing random or spiral trajectory among collected diffraction patterns implement phase-retrieval, gPIE guides searching direction through local minimum and minimizes cost function, which is difference between calculated intensities experimental ones, approach global minimum. Compared with ePIE, robustly reconstructs more accurate sample illumination, thus revealing correct surface topology. The feasibility was verified experimentally by acquiring sequential from UV laser.
